Harald Mundinger

Professor Harald Mundinger serves in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at University of Applied Sciences Südwestfalen, with offices in both Lüdenscheid (Bahnhofsallee 5, Room Ls 1.16) and Hagen (Haldener Straße 182, Room H.315). He has been a Professor of Building Systems Engineering since October 2012 and previously served as Dean of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from September 2015 to August 2019.

His research focuses on building automation systems with expertise in wired and wireless networks for building technology, cross-trade building automation, measurement and control of environmental parameters in buildings, and ultra-low power circuit design for battery-less devices. His teaching portfolio includes Automation Systems, Introduction to Measurement Technology, Building Systems Technology, Building Automation, Industrial Communication Systems, Computer Networks, and Distributed Automation Systems across multiple engineering programs.

Professor Mundinger oversees the Laboratory for Building Systems Technology in Lüdenscheid (Room Ls 2.15), which supports practical coursework and thesis projects. His specialist areas include KNX, DALI, DMX, BACnet, and wireless sensor-actuator networks with applications in building automation and energy efficiency.

He is a member of the Department Council of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, the Subject Committee and Examination Board for the Industrial Engineering Energy and Buildings program, and the Committee for the combined Bachelor of Electrical Engineering program.
