Dr. Haomiao Du is an Assistant Professor in Climate Law and Sustainability at Utrecht University's Department of International and European Law (School of Law). Her research focuses on international and comparative climate law, legal dimensions of climate mitigation/adaptation, and governance of emerging technologies like negative emission technologies and geoengineering. She leads interdisciplinary projects exploring legal integration into climate scenario assessments and climate neutrality frameworks.
Education includes a PhD from the Amsterdam Centre for International Law (University of Amsterdam) on geoengineering governance, followed by postdoctoral research at Utrecht University's UCWOSL and University of Twente. She also holds LLM (Environmental Law) and LLB (China) qualifications.
