Hans Williams

Hans Williams is a Professor of Forestry and Dean of the Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture at Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA), where he has served since 2015. He previously held roles as Associate Dean (2009-2015), Kenneth Nelson Distinguished Professor of Forestry (2004-present), and Professor of Forestry (2003-present). With a career spanning over 30 years at SFA, he emphasizes student mentorship and fostering a lifelong passion for learning.

• Education: PhD in Forestry (Auburn University, 1989), MS in Forestry (Clemson University, 1983), BS in Forestry (Purdue University, 1980)

His research interests focus on forestry, tree adaptability, and ecosystem sustainability. He advocates for student growth through faculty inspiration and interdisciplinary collaboration.
