Dr. Hans-Peter Comes is a University Professor and Deputy Head of the Department of Ecology and Evolution at the University of Salzburg. He leads the Ecology, Biodiversity and Evolution of Plants Working Group and serves as Deputy Head of the Botanical Garden Working Group.
- Research Focus: Molecular biogeography, evolutionary processes in European high mountain disjunctions, plant population dynamics, and Mediterranean flora.
- Cooperations: Collaborates with Prof. Kadereit (University of Mainz), Prof. Fu & Dr. Qiu (Zhejiang University), Dr. Kropf (BOKU Vienna), Dr. Bartish (Swedish Museum), and others on evolutionary botany projects.
Teaching & Mentorship: Engaged in research-led teaching, integrating his expertise into graduate and postgraduate programs. Supervises students in plant evolutionary studies.
