Hanna-Riikka Roine is a Principal Investigator at Narrare: Centre for Interdisciplinary Narrative Studies at Tampere University, leading the Kone Foundation-funded project Imagine, democracy! (2023–2025). She holds a docent title in Contemporary Culture from the University of Jyväskylä (2023) and a PhD in Contemporary Culture from the University of Tampere (2016). Her research focuses on speculative fiction, narrative theory, digital media, and game studies, particularly examining the intersections of imagination, democracy, and computational technologies. She serves as Editor-in-chief of Kirjallisuudentutkimuksen aikakauslehti Avain (2023–2024).
