Hanna Michalak

Prof. Hanna Michalak is a Professor at Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, affiliated with the Faculty of Vocal Performance and Acting since 1984. She held significant administrative roles including Vice-Dean of Vocal and Acting Department (2005-2012) and Vice-Rector for Artistic Affairs (2012).

Education: Graduated from Faculty of Vocal Performance and Acting at Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz under Professor Alicja Marczak-Faberowa.

Artistic Specialization: Renowned for vocal performance in early music repertoire, particularly Renaissance a cappella works and Baroque oratorios/cantatas. Her expertise spans compositions by J.S. Bach, D. Buxtehude, A. Caldara, and other historical composers, performed across international venues in Austria, France, Spain, Denmark, Germany, Sweden, and Belarus.

Serves on juries for major vocal competitions and conducts specialized courses for secondary music students. Actively contributes to cultural development through the IJ Paderewski Music Society, directing four editions of the Paderewski Vocal Competition since 1995.

Ensemble Leadership: Permanent member of Madrigal Ensemble Capella Bydgostiensis (1988-1991) and Early Music Ensemble Collegium Vocale (1992-present), producing award-winning recordings and performing at major European early music festivals.
