Hanna Hallgren

Hanna Hallgren is an Associate Professor in Gender Studies at Linnaeus University's Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Department of Film and Literature, where she has been employed since 2013. She also works as a 50% professor in creative writing. Her academic journey began with a PhD from Tema Genus at Linköping University in 2008, where her dissertation focused on lesbian feminism and activism during the 1970s and 1980s in Sweden. Prior to her position at Linnaeus, she served as a Senior Lecturer in Gender Studies at Södertörn University College from 2009 to 2013. Between 2016 and 2018, she worked as a professor in literary design at the University of Gothenburg.

Her research interests span multiple interconnected fields including gender studies, lesbian feminism, queer theory, creative writing methodology, and the intersection of academic and poetic expression.
