Han Tao is a Researcher at the Technologies in Practice group (TiP) at the IT University of Copenhagen. She holds a PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Sussex, where her doctoral work focused on same-sex intimacies, marriages of convenience between LGBTQ+ individuals, and queer parenting practices in urban China. Her research interests span kinship structures, sexual identities, migration dynamics, and moral frameworks within contemporary societies.
Han’s scholarly activities center on ethnographic exploration of non-normative family formations and socio-cultural transformations. Her work engages with interdisciplinary methodologies at the intersection of anthropology, gender studies, and migration research. Current projects include Moving Data, Moving People, examining digital and human mobility patterns.
