About
Han Cheng holds a part-time academic position as Academic Casual in the Department of Economics at Macquarie Business School, Macquarie University. Affiliated with the Macquarie University Centre for the Health Economy (MUCHE), he is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) under the HDR program.
His research spans health economics and environmental policy, with dual focus areas: (1) valuation of rare disease treatments and end-of-life care in China using contingent valuation methods, and (2) cross-country analysis of carbon pricing impacts on pollutants like methane and atmospheric aerosols. Recent work examines income inequality effects on mental health through longitudinal Australian studies.
Publication trends reveal strong interdisciplinary engagement between
- health policy (rare diseases, Quality-Adjusted Life Years)
- environmental economics (carbon pricing, pollution control)
- social determinants of health (income inequality, mental health outcomes)
Han actively disseminates research through conference presentations, including studies on income inequality's causal impact on health at international forums. His ORCID: 0000-0002-8413-7842.
