Halie Kampman is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Department of Geography, College of Earth and Mineral Sciences, Pennsylvania State University. She collaborates with Dr. Brian King on research examining how the COVID-19 pandemic is influencing the US opioid epidemic.

Her research expertise spans health geographies, political ecology of health, science and technology studies, postcolonial studies, and food studies. She has led collaborative social-science projects in Senegal and Ghana, focusing on the "nutrition transition"—the shift from traditional diets to processed foods—and its impact on bodily and environmental health. Her work emphasizes the perspectives and agency of communities navigating health challenges.
