Haissam Badih

Haissam Badih serves as an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Math and Computer Science Department of the College of Arts and Sciences at Lawrence Technological University (LTU) in Southfield, Michigan. He commenced his academic career at LTU in 2021 following the completion of his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Informatics from Oakland University. Prior to academia, Dr. Badih accumulated extensive industry experience in software engineering and architecture across multiple companies.

His educational qualifications include:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada
• Master of Science from Lawrence Technological University
• Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science and Informatics from Oakland University (2020)

Dr. Badih's research centers on blockchain applications for autonomous systems, sensor fusion, and human/machine interaction. He leads Project DIAMOnD for Automation Alley, developing blockchain-powered 3D printer marketplaces for Industry 4.0 supply chains. His doctoral work pioneered blockchain-based webcam/microphone access control using smart contracts and explored blockchain-AI integration for secure communication. He actively contributes to the Blockchain and Decoy deception research project, focusing on smart contract implementations for device security.

He teaches artificial intelligence courses with LTU's Engineering department, bridging theoretical frameworks with industrial applications in robotic programming, sensor fusion, and intelligent agent systems. His industry background informs practical approaches to cybersecurity challenges in autonomous systems design.
