Hagar Labouta serves as Assistant Professor in the College of Pharmacy at the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba, with adjunct appointments in Biomedical Engineering and a Scientist role at the Children's Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba.

Her work spans targeted drug delivery systems for oncology, therapeutic nanocarriers for maternal-fetal conditions, and mechanistic studies of nanoparticle vascular dynamics including protein corona interactions. This interdisciplinary approach bridges pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical engineering, and maternal health research.

She actively recruits graduate students for her laboratory, which collaborates with CHRIM to translate nanotechnology innovations into clinical solutions for high-risk pregnancies and neonatal disorders.
