He holds a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Michigan and dual MAs in Anthropology and Gender Studies from CEU. His key research interests include public homophobia in Eastern Europe, neo-Orientalist moral geographies, and the politics of queer memory. Notable publications address Hungary’s LGBT movement, transnational temporalities, and the role of biopolitical mythologies in shaping European Otherness. He is revising a book manuscript titled *Disorientations: Queer Politics and Geotemporal Belonging in Hungary’s Postsocialist Conjuncture*, an ethnographic analysis of LGBTQ+ activism and resistance in Hungary.
Renkin has been involved in university-wide dialogues such as the 2017 seminar on *Otherness: Acceptance or Refusal?* His work bridges anthropology, sociology, and queer theory, emphasizing spatial and temporal dimensions of identity formation.
