Dr. Habibul Bakht is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Division of Natural and Behavioral Sciences at Hilbert College. He holds a BS/MS in Microbiology from the University of Dhaka, an MS in Marine-Estuarine and Environmental Sciences, and a PhD in Molecular Biology & Biotechnology from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
His research expertise spans:
- Environmental and molecular microbiology
- Genetics, cell biology, and marine ecology
- Pathogen interactions in aquatic ecosystems (e.g., Vibrio cholerae, Hematodinium)
