Ha Anh Thai

Ha Anh Thai M.Sc. is a Researcher at the Institute of Analytical Chemistry within the Department of Natural Sciences and Sustainable Resources at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). Based in Muthgasse 18, Vienna, their work focuses on advanced analytical methods for environmental contaminants.

Research interests center on PFAS (Per- and Poly-Fluoroalkyl Substances) analysis and bioremediation, particularly using liquid chromatography high-resolution mass spectrometry techniques. Their work investigates PFOA and PFOS degradation capabilities in Pseudomonas strains, contributing to environmental pollution mitigation strategies.

Current projects include the development of analytical methods for PFAS bioremediation and a disparity mutator system in Pseudomonas for enhanced PFAS degradation capabilities (2024-2027), both funded by national companies. These projects involve collaboration with the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology.

Thai presented research on optimizing mass spectrometry methods for PFAS degradation studies at the Junganalytiker:innenforum 2025 in Innsbruck, demonstrating active engagement in the analytical chemistry community.
