H. Peter Soyer

Professor H. Peter Soyer holds the inaugural Chair in Dermatology at The University of Queensland and previously directed the Princess Alexandra Hospital Dermatology Department (2008-2023). With over 30 years of clinical experience, his translational research focuses on preventative dermatooncology and dermatologic imaging. A pioneer in dermoscopy, he developed the global morphological classification system for pigmented skin lesions.

His research interests include:

• Dermatoscopy techniques
• Reflectance confocal microscopy
• Melanoma diagnosis
• Dermatopathology

Professor Soyer holds a Doctor of Philosophy from Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz and fellowships with the Australasian College of Dermatologists.
