Günther Hofbauer

Prof. Dr. Günther Hofbauer is a faculty member at the Department of Dermatology, University Hospital Zurich. He is a board-certified dermatologist, allergist, and clinical immunologist with extensive clinical and research experience in skin diseases and transplantation medicine.

• Education: MD from medical schools in Basel, Lausanne, and Heidelberg

• Postdoctoral Fellowship: Dermatology Branch, National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health

His research focuses on squamous cell carcinoma of the skin, emphasizing prevention and treatment strategies. He also leads the SGDV Working Group for Dermatology and Organ Transplantation and previously served as President of the European association SCOPE.

Clinically, Hofbauer practices outpatient dermatology, immunology, and allergy at Allderm (Wetzikon) and cares for inpatients at Hirslanden Klinik Zurich.
