Gwénola Réto

Gwénola Réto is a Professor and researcher at the University of Angers (UCO), affiliated with the Faculty of Education and the LIRFE research team. She holds a Doctorate in Education (HDR) and a PhD from the University of Sherbrooke (Canada). Her roles include Director of IFUCOME (Higher Training Institute for Teaching Professions) and Director of the Angers component of the Faculty of Education. She also serves as an international collaborator at Canada's GREE (Group for Research in Ethics and Education) and a member of GRIDE (Research Group on School Management).

Her research focuses on professional ethics in education, management of school organizations, and teaching practices. Key themes include the well-being of school leaders, the role of adjoints de direction, and ethical dimensions of educational leadership. She has organized international conferences such as 'La direction dans tous ses états' (2025) and contributed to projects like the UCO’s 'AEEC' initiative.

Her publications span articles on school administration dynamics, pandemic impacts on leadership, and the interplay between job demands and psychological needs. She actively engages in research-action-formation projects, including studies on coaching for school directors and comparative analyses of Quebec-France educational management during the pandemic.

Gwénola Réto also leads educational programs at IFUCOME, addressing vulnerabilities and resources for trainee teachers during crises. Her work bridges theoretical ethics with practical educational challenges, emphasizing well-being, relational quality, and adaptive leadership in uncertain contexts.
