Gwilym Croucher

Gwilym Croucher is a Senior Lecturer and Principal Policy Adviser at the University of Melbourne, with a visiting fellowship at UC Berkeley’s Center for Studies in Higher Education. His research focuses on the politicization of science, university funding models, and the strategic challenges facing research-intensive institutions. He leads projects on public and private financing of universities, including an Australian Research Council grant examining Australia’s higher education policy history.

His work bridges academia and policy, addressing dilemmas in sustaining basic research amid shifting public and governmental priorities.
