Guzman Ourens

Guzman Ourens is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Tilburg University's Tilburg School of Economics and Management (TiSEM). His office is located in Room K 353, and he can be contacted via G.Ourens@tilburguniversity.edu. He holds a PhD in Economics from UCLouvain.

His research examines how globalization reshapes economies through:

• International trade and labor market interactions
• Resource reallocation mechanisms
• Long-term growth trajectories
• Firm-level heterogeneity impacts
• Agricultural vs. industrial development gaps

Recent publications (2016-2022) demonstrate strong thematic focus on immigration-wage dynamics, trade liberalization effects, and structural economic transformation. Methodologically, his work combines theoretical modeling with empirical analysis of sectoral productivity and labor flows.

He teaches advanced courses in macroeconomic dynamics, international trade, and EU economics. As part of his service, he co-organizes the biennial Tilburg Macro Conference and maintains resources for student researchers on his personal website.
