Professor Guy Rub is a faculty member at Temple University, specializing in intellectual property law, commercial law, the arts, and economic theory. He previously held the Joanne Wharton Murphy/Class of 1965 and 1973 Professorship in Law at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where he taught Copyright Law, Trademark Law, Contracts, and Law and Economics. Prior to academia, he practiced law at Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP and worked as a software programmer.
His research focuses on the interplay between markets and intellectual property law. He has published in leading journals such as the Chicago Law Review, UCLA Law Review, and Yale Law Journal Forum. Professor Rub has held significant leadership roles, including chairing Temple University’s IP Committee (twice) and the Intellectual Property Section of the American Association of Law Schools. Under his leadership, Temple University revised its IP policy after 30 years.
