Associate Professor Guy Roth serves as the Director of Northern Agriculture at the University of Sydney’s Narrabri Campus and is affiliated with the Sydney Institute of Agriculture. With 25 years of experience, he specializes in improving agricultural productivity, sustainable rural communities, and research-industry collaborations. He chairs the National Primary Industries Water Use in Agriculture strategy and leads the national Smarter Irrigation for Profit project, focusing on cotton, dairy, rice, and sugarcane sectors.
Dr. Roth’s research interests include crop water relations, precision agriculture, remote sensing, and agricultural sustainability reporting. He has authored/co-authored over 20 publications and edited reports on water footprinting and irrigation efficiency. His work aligns with the University’s research strengths in food security, sustainable agriculture, and decision-making for environmental resilience.
