Guy Emerson Mount

Guy Emerson Mount is Assistant Professor of History at Wake Forest University and affiliate faculty in African American Studies. Research examines Black transnationalism through the lens of emancipation, racial capitalism, and American empire. Current book project Slavery's Empire: Reconstruction in the Black Pacific traces post-emancipation colonization schemes linking the Atlantic World to U.S. Pacific territories.

Co-founded Reparations at UChicago Working Group (RAUC) and co-established Alabama Center for Transformative Justice. Receiving 2024-2026 Woodson Fellowship for reparations history research.
