About
Dr. Gurwinder Singh is a Research Fellow at the Global Innovative Centre for Advanced Nanomaterials (GICAN), School of Engineering, University of Newcastle. His research focuses on designing advanced nanoporous materials for CO2 capture/conversion, energy storage systems, and environmental remediation.
Primary research domains include:
- Development of biomass-derived porous carbons with tunable functionality
- Nanomaterial synthesis for supercapacitors and lithium-ion batteries
- Photocatalytic CO2 reduction systems inspired by natural processes
Teaching responsibilities encompass graduate courses in materials characterization techniques (NMR, TGA) and reaction engineering. He mentors PhD students in nanomaterials synthesis and application development.
