Guo Freeman is a Dean's Associate Professor in Clemson University's School of Computing, where she directs the Gaming and Mediated Experience Lab (CUGAME). Her research examines social dynamics in multiplayer games, social VR, and streaming platforms.
Research explores harassment mitigation in virtual spaces, AI-assisted game development, and LGBTQ+ experiences in social VR. Funded projects include NSF-supported work on generative AI for creative workflows and social VR safety mechanisms.
Teaching includes game design and computing ethics courses. Extensive service includes leadership roles as General Chair for ACM CHI PLAY 2024 and CHI Games Subcommittee Chair. Education includes a Ph.D. in Information Science from Indiana University.
