Gunta Beta

Assoc. Prof. Gunta Beta is a distinguished academic at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), serving as a lecturer and Associate Professor (Docent) at the Faculty of Public Health and Social Wellbeing, Liepāja branch. She also holds the position of Head of the Nursing Study Department. Her career spans over four decades, beginning as a nurse in 1972 and evolving into roles in nursing education, research, and academic leadership.

Education: Gunta Beta is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Liepāja University, focusing on "Nurses' Professional Proficiency in the Process of Educating Patients." Her prior education includes a Master of Education from Liepaja Academy of Pedagogy, a Bachelor's in Social Work, and a Foundation Degree in Out-patient Nursing from RSU.

Research Interests: Her primary research areas include patient education, nursing pedagogy, professional development of nurses, and educational policy in healthcare. She has contributed extensively to understanding how nurses can effectively educate patients and how pedagogical skills impact healthcare outcomes.
