About
Guido Zolezzi is a Full Professor in Hydraulics at the Department of Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering, University of Trento. He also serves as Rector's Delegate for Development Cooperation and is affiliated with the Agriculture, Food and Environment Center (C3A). His research focuses on river morphodynamics, ecohydraulics, and sustainable water management in developing regions.
- Laurea in Environmental and Territory Engineering, University of Genova (1996)
- PhD in Civil Engineering, University of Genova (focus: fluvial meander dynamics)
Research Interests
Guido Zolezzi investigates:
- River morphodynamics and sediment transport processes
- Ecohydraulics and environmental impacts of hydroelectric energy
- Water supply systems in developing regions
His work integrates mathematical modeling with experimental validation, particularly in meandering river dynamics and dam operation impacts.
Teaching & Projects
- Director of Erasmus Mundus SMART Doctorate Programme
- Teaches water resources management and free-surface hydrodynamics
- Co-developed university modules on international cooperation
