Guangrui (Kayla) Li is an Assistant Professor of Operations Management and Information Systems at the Schulich School of Business, York University. She holds a PhD from the University of Hong Kong Science and Technology (HKUST) and a bachelor’s degree from Peking University. Her research focuses on understanding the societal impacts of artificial intelligence systems on social media platforms, particularly examining algorithmic recommendations' effects on user behavior and platform policies' dual-sided influences. Her work bridges algorithmic transparency, digital platforms, and behavioral economics.

Research Interests: Leveraging big data and AI to study algorithmic systems' societal implications, including social media content generation, platform policy effects, and data-driven decision-making.
