Guangming Jiang

Guangming Jiang is an Associate Professor of Environmental Engineering at the University of Wollongong, affiliated with the School of Civil, Mining, Environmental & Architectural Engineering. He holds a PhD from The University of Queensland, a Master of Applied Science from Lincoln University, and a Bachelor of Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology. His research focuses on wastewater treatment, epidemiology via wastewater analysis, microbiologically influenced corrosion, bioconcrete, and environmental modeling. He leads international networks like the Asia-Pacific Network for Wastewater Monitoring of COVID-19 and contributes to editorial roles in top journals such as Water Research and Environmental Science & Technology.

Professor Jiang teaches courses including Membrane Science, Air & Noise Pollution Engineering, and Sustainable Energy Technologies. He advises numerous PhD and master's students on topics like wastewater infrastructure corrosion, bioconcrete, and microbial mechanisms. His funded projects address sustainable wastewater systems, corrosion control, and smart water management, with grants from the Australian Research Council and international collaborations.

His work includes commercialized technologies like Cloevis and contributions to major infrastructure projects such as Singapore’s Deep Tunnel Sewerage System. He actively participates in global initiatives like the Euro-MIC COST Action for corrosion management and wastewater-based epidemiology surveillance.
