Professor Griffin is an established general and transplant nephrologist affiliated with Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (UHB). She specializes in managing immunologically-mediated kidney diseases, including vasculitis, lupus nephritis, glomerulonephritis, and transplant immunology, with a focus on histocompatibility and immunogenetics.
Her academic journey began at Cambridge University, followed by clinical and research training in Cambridge, London, Melbourne, and Seattle. She leads the Wales Kidney Research Unit for late phase trials and founded the Kidney Transplant Immune Response Biobank in Cardiff. Previously, she served as General Secretary of the British Transplantation Society.
