Gregory Trompeter is the C.G. Avery Professor of Accounting at the University of Central Florida's Kenneth G. Dixon School of Accounting within the College of Business. Previously Director of the Dixon School, his career includes faculty positions at Boston College (1992-2008) and University of Notre Dame (1988-1992), and auditing experience at Price Waterhouse & Co.
His research focuses on internal controls, fraud detection, auditor independence, and the regulation/economics of the auditing profession. Publications appear in leading journals including The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, and Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory.
Education includes a PhD and MBA from University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a BS in Accounting from Illinois State University.
