Gregory Lang is a Professor of Tree Fruit Physiology at Michigan State University and Education Director for the International Fruit Tree Association (IFTA). He holds a BSc (University of Georgia), MSc (UC Davis Pomology), and PhD (UC Davis Plant Physiology).
His research advanced dwarfing precocious rootstocks for sweet cherries and labor-efficient tree training/orchard covering systems. He has published over 200 articles and 7 books, and chaired international fruit science working groups.
Awards include: ASHS Fellow (2002), IFTA Distinguished Research (2001), ASHS Graduate Educator (2010), ASHS Outstanding Fruit Research Publication (2019), and Italian Academy of Agriculture Cherry Research (2019).
