Gregory D. Abowd is the Dean of the College of Engineering and a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Northeastern University. He is also affiliated with the Khoury College of Computer Sciences and Health Sciences. Prior to joining Northeastern in 2021, he was a Regents’ Professor and held the J.Z. Liang Chair in the School of Interactive Computing at Georgia Tech, where he served as Associate Dean of Research and Space for the College of Computing.

He is a Fellow of the ACM, a member of the ACM CHI Academy, and a recipient of the ACM Eugene Lawler Humanitarian Award for his work in autism and technology.
Abowd has advised over 30 Ph.D. students, many of whom hold academic positions globally. His work bridges computational innovation with societal impact, emphasizing sustainable materials, health systems, and accessibility.
