Gregory Cochenet

Gregory Cochenet is a Professor in the Department of Art and Design at Southern Connecticut State University, where he has taught since 2004. A native of Waukesha, Wisconsin, he earned his B.A. in Studio Art from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (2000) and an M.F.A. in Ceramics from Southern Illinois University Carbondale (2004).

His research interests focus on ceramic art inspired by disappearing rural Midwestern culture and architecture. Using agrarian icons like silos and barns as a vernacular for self-expression, his work reflects the transformation of landscapes through urban sprawl and his personal geographic shifts from Midwest to East Coast.
