Gregory Claeys

Gregory Claeys is a Professor of the History of Political Thought at Royal Holloway, University of London, since 1992. His academic career spans over three decades, with a focus on utopianism, early socialism, and 19th-century political ideologies. He has held visiting professorships at Australian National University, Keio University, University of Hanoi, and Peking University.

His research contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to socialism, utopianism, and 19th-century liberalism, emphasizing historical perspectives on social equality, political systems, and ideological evolution.

Recent publications include works on dystopian studies, Marxist theory, and the intersection of positivism with internationalism. He has edited numerous primary sources on utopianism and radicalism.
