Gregory B. Baecher is the Glenn L. Martin Institute Professor of Engineering at the University of Maryland College Park, affiliated with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering within the A.J. Clark School of Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His expertise spans risk assessment, geotechnical engineering, and probabilistic methods applied to civil infrastructure resilience.
Research Interests:
- Pioneering probabilistic approaches for infrastructure safety
- Geotechnical and water-resource engineering systems
- Resilience strategies for civil infrastructure
