Gregory Adams

Gregory Adams is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Southern Connecticut State University. His work bridges applied social psychology and sociological theory, focusing on identity development, deviant behavior, and the intersection of social/economic influences on adolescents. He has contributed to research on drug use correlations, international education, and ethnic identity among foreign-born adoptees.

Research Interests: Adams explores the relationships between high-risk and low-risk behaviors in drug users, the impact of migratory patterns on economic development, and the complexities of ethnic identity formation in adopted adolescents. His studies span Ukraine, China, and U.S.-based populations, emphasizing longitudinal analysis and social capital theory.

Grants: He led two targeted research projects: one examining urban-to-rural school relocation in Hefei, China, and another analyzing ethnic identity development in Chinese adoptees. These grants highlight his focus on educational and socio-cultural contexts.
