Gregg A. Wade

Dr. Gregg A. Wade is a Professor (cross-appointed from Royal Military College of Canada) in the Department of Physics and Space Science, affiliated with the Faculty of Astronomy, Astrophysics & Relativity within the Arts & Science school. He holds a BSc, MSc, and PhD in Physics. His research focuses on magnetic fields in stars, particularly massive stars' structure, evolution, and magnetospheric interactions. He leads the Magnetism in Massive Stars (MiMeS) collaboration and co-leads the BinaMIcS project.

Key research areas include magnetic fields' roles in stellar evolution, non-thermal emission mechanisms, and instrumentation like NIRPS and ANDES for the ELT. He received the Cowan Prize for Excellence in Research (2019). His work involves collaborations with international teams and utilizes space-based observatories like BRITE-Constellation.

Dr. Wade has advised numerous graduate students (listed above), focusing on topics like binary star magnetism, stellar mergers, and observational techniques. His research also extends to satellite characterization via the Space Surveillance Research Laboratory (SSRL).
