Dr. Greg Hartley is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Physical Therapy at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s Department of Physical Therapy. He serves as President of the Academy of Geriatric Physical Therapy (AGPT), a component of the American Physical Therapy Association, leading a membership of nearly 6,000 professionals focused on aging adult care. Previously, he held voluntary faculty roles at the Miller School from 2002 to 2015 before transitioning to full-time faculty.
His expertise includes geriatric physical therapy, clinical practice guidelines, and residency program development. He founded the first accredited geriatric physical therapy residency in the U.S., based at St. Catherine’s Rehabilitation Hospital and affiliated with the Miller School. His professional certifications include Board-Certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist and Certified Exercise Expert for Aging Adults™.
Leadership roles include serving on AGPT’s Board of Directors as Director, Secretary, and Chair of its Practice Committee, where he developed evidence-based clinical documents. His three-year term as AGPT President concluded in February 2021.
