Greg Eirich serves as Lecturer in the Discipline of Sociology at Columbia University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences, where he also directs the Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences (QMSS) MA Program. His academic appointments include membership in the Computational Social Science Committee and Education Affiliated Member roles.
Dr. Eirich's research centers on socioeconomic inequality with particular focus on family processes. His work examines "rich-get-richer" dynamics in the CEO labor market, the cumulative academic consequences of reading ability groups in early education, and the relationship between parental religiosity and children's educational attainment in the United States. His methodological expertise spans Data Analysis, Advanced Analytic Techniques, Time Series, and Social Network Analysis.
