Greg Depaul is a Professor of Dramatic Writing at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), Savannah, GA, since September 2022. Previously, he held instructor roles at The New School for Public Engagement, Purchase College (SUNY), New York University, and Montclair State University. He holds an M.F.A. in Drama-Playwriting from The Catholic University of America and a B.A. in History of Art from New York University.
His research and creative work focus on screenwriting, film production, and narrative storytelling. Notable projects include the short film Saint Nick (2021), which earned the Independence in Filmmaking Award, the feature film Bride Wars (2015/2020), and The Zeppler Family Christmas (2020), which supported a Boston-area school. His book Bring the Funny: The Essential Companion for the Comedy Screenwriter (Focal Press) guides comedy writers.
Depaul’s contributions extend to academia and industry through workshops and panels at institutions like the University of Barcelona Film School, Austin Film Festival, and UCLA.
