About
Greg Cousins is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at McMaster University. His research focuses on mathematical logic and algebra, with notable contributions to Lascar group analysis and Picard-Vessiot extensions. He holds a PhD from the University of Notre Dame (2013–2019), an MSc from the University of Oxford (2012–2013), and a BSc from McMaster University (2008–2012).
Research Interests: Dr. Cousins explores abstract algebraic structures, model theory applications, and differential Galois theory. His work bridges foundational mathematical logic with computational algebraic methods.
Teaching Highlights: He has instructed over 20 courses across undergraduate and graduate levels, including Quantum Computing (MATH 3QC3), Probability & Statistics for Engineering (STATS 3Y03), and Advanced Topics in Mathematics (MATH 5GT3).
Recent Work: Recent publications emphasize classifying spaces in model theory and embedded extensions in differential algebra. His 2021 JSL paper advanced understanding of Lascar groups in topological dynamics.
