Greg Cohn

Greg Cohn is a Senior Faculty Research Assistant at Oregon State University’s College of Forestry, affiliated with the Department of Forest Ecosystems & Society. His work focuses on forest fire dynamics, biogeochemical processes, and climate change impacts on ecosystem resilience.

Research Interests: Utilizing advanced 3D fire modeling platforms like STANDFIRE and LANDFIRE, Cohn investigates fuel management strategies, insect-fire interactions (e.g., western spruce budworm outbreaks), and climate-driven disturbances in conifer forests. His research combines dendrochronological analysis with physics-based fire simulations to assess long-term ecological synergies.
