Greg Burch is an Associate Professor and Chair of Global Studies at Multnomah University, where he also serves as Director of the Master of Arts in Global Development and Justice program. He joined Multnomah in 2012. Burch holds a Ph.D., M.A. from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a B.S. from Multnomah Bible College.
His research and professional focus revolves around children at risk, global mission strategies, and social justice. Prior to academia, he spent over a decade in Latin America, working with nonprofits like Niños de la Luz in Venezuela and ESEPA Seminary in Costa Rica, developing programs for street children and community development. He emphasizes mentoring students engaged in mission, development, and social justice work.
His publications span topics including ethical mission responses, children’s protagonism in development, and bi-modal mission approaches in Latin America. Though no formal awards are noted, his contributions to theological and missiological discourse are evident through his authored books and peer-reviewed articles.
Burch’s advisory role extends to students working in mission and development contexts, and he actively collaborates on initiatives supporting marginalized communities. His work often intersects with theology, practical ministry, and cultural analysis, reflecting a commitment to holistic community transformation.
