Greer Burroughs

Dr. Greer Burroughs is an Associate Professor in the Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education at The College of New Jersey's School of Education. She holds an EdD from Rutgers University (2010), a Master of Arts in Teaching from Montclair State University (1997), and a BA in Sociology from Rutgers University (1989). Her work bridges academia and K-12 practice through curriculum development, grant leadership, and international consultancy.

Her research prioritizes EcoJustice education, critical place-based learning, and civic engagement. She investigates how sustainability and social justice intersect in teacher preparation, notably through projects like 'Learn Globally, Teach Locally' (Spencer Foundation grant, 2023). Her publications consistently emphasize transformative pedagogies for equitable societies.

Burroughs received a Full-year Sabbatical Award (2023) and SOSA Award (2023) for scholarly impact. She mentors through curriculum committees and directs the Environmental and Sustainability Education Committee (2016–present).
