Grazyna Kochanska is the Dewey B. Stuit Professor in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Iowa. Her research focuses on children’s social-emotional development from infancy to adolescence, with a particular emphasis on developmental psychopathology and developmental science. She leads the CHILD LAB, which investigates parent-child interactions, child temperament, and the development of conscience.
Her work is affiliated with the Developmental Psychopathology and Developmental Science Research Groups. The CHILD LAB recently concluded Time 5 of their longitudinal study and maintains an active presence in developmental research.
Professor Kochanska’s lab has historically recruited families for the Children and Parents Study (CAPS), though they are no longer actively enrolling participants. Her research spans topics such as emotion regulation, executive function, and temperament.
