Graham Huggan

Graham Huggan holds the Chair of Commonwealth and Postcolonial Literatures at the University of Leeds, where he serves as Director of Impact for the School of English and Founding Co-Director of the Institute for Colonial and Postcolonial Studies (ICPS). He earned a PhD and MA in Comparative Literature from the University of British Columbia and a BA Hons from the University of Cambridge.

His research integrates postcolonial studies with environmental humanities, animal studies, tourism, travel writing, and film. Huggan leads interdisciplinary projects including EU-funded environmental humanities training and Arctic cultural research, AHRC/DFG conservation initiatives, and a Leverhulme doctoral program in Extinction Studies.
