Grace Markum is an Adjunct Professor of Marketing at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. With over 20 years in the hospitality industry, including roles as Vice President of Sales and Marketing and later President and CEO of Crown American Hotels, she brings extensive professional experience to her teaching. Her academic career began in 2004, where she developed the University of Pittsburgh's first course on sales. She transitioned to a full-time Assistant Professor role before leaving to join Pennsylvania Highlands Community College as Associate Vice President for Continuing Education. Currently, she also runs High Impact2, Inc., a business consulting firm, and co-owns The UPS in Ebensburg, PA.
- Education: BA from University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown; MBA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (1999); Certified Hotel Administrator (American Hotel & Motel Association).
Her teaching focuses on marketing disciplines including Sales Management, Marketing Research, International Marketing, and Hospitality & Tourism Marketing. She is also active in leadership development, co-founding Leadership Westmoreland and its youth academy under the Westmoreland County Chamber of Commerce.
Professional ventures include business consulting, small business solutions, and community education programs in workforce development.
