Gordon Mantler is an Associate Professor of Writing and History at George Washington University's Columbian College of Arts & Sciences. Currently on sabbatical, he specializes in 20th-century U.S. social justice movements, multiracial coalitions, public history, memorialization, and writing pedagogy in history education. He holds a PhD and has authored award-winning books, including The Multiracial Promise (2023) and Power to the Poor (2013).
