Goran M. Roglic

Dr. Goran M. Roglic is a Full Professor at the Department of Applied Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade. His academic career spans over three decades, with significant contributions to medicinal chemistry and environmental chemistry. He currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry since October 1, 2020.

• Education: MSc and PhD in Chemical Sciences from the University of Belgrade
• Academic Progression: Assistant (1996-2004) → Assistant Professor (2003-2008) → Associate Professor (2008-2018) → Full Professor (2018-present)
• Leadership Roles: Vice-Dean for Education (2003-2005), Vice-Dean for Finance (2013-2015), Deputy Chairman of the Faculty Council (2016-2018)

His research focuses on:

• Design and synthesis of arylpiperazine derivatives with dopaminergic/serotonergic activity
• Structure-activity relationship studies of benzimidazole and related heterocyclic compounds
• Development of advanced oxidation processes for environmental pollutant removal
• Computational modeling of receptor-ligand interactions

Recent research projects include:

• 2022-2023: VISION project (international collaboration with SOLVAY) for PFAS removal in water/sediments
• 2011: Advanced oxidation processes for environmental pollutant removal (funded by Serbian Ministry of Science)
• 2011: Structure-activity studies of bioactive substances (funded by Serbian Ministry of Science)
